Coronavirus (COVID-19) is a highly contagious disease that is spreading fast

It isn’t like the flu. It is spreading much faster.

Many of us will need hospital treatment. Unfortunately, some of us may not survive.

You can catch the disease from someone who looks perfectly well, and you can spread it without knowing you are ill.

If the spread is not suppressed, our NHS will be overwhelmed. Doctors and nurses will fall ill and more people will become infected

Symptoms

According to the NHS, some of the more serious cases will have symptoms including:

  • Fever or high temperature
  • New, continuous dry cough

Other symptoms listed by the World Health Organisation include:

  • Shortness of breath
  • Aches and pains
  • Sore throat
  • In very few cases diarrhoea, nausea or a runny nose

That is why the UK government has instructed everyone to stay home

And it’s why we’d like to urge you to do the same:

Stay at home. Protect the NHS. Save lives.
